First annual  pinewood beer derby

Join us Sept 10th at 5pm for Nashville's first annual Pinewood Beer Derby Fundraiser. That is right folks, Pinewood Derby cars just like boy scouts! Every brewery in town, as well as other participating businesses will be building their own cars and we are going to race them at the brewery after the Titans game. The track will be set up inside and contestants will be judged on the speed and style of their car. All of the proceeds will benefit Alive Hospice, a non-profit organization that assists families with end of life services. Scott from Chapman II will be with us as well serving up some delicious sandwiches. This event is open to the public and will be a great deal of fun! Come out and watch some of your favorite businesses in town race, and likely, drink too much!  Involved businesses:

Pamela Brown grew up in Arnold, Nebraska, a small town with a population of around 400. Her childhood was spent exploring the countryside and nurturing her creative spirit; that was a glorious time before internet, devices and cable TV.

Growing up as the oldest of 5 children, Pam learned early on how art made her feel and decided then she wanted to be an artist. Practically living in her school’s art department of her school, Pam was mentored by the art teacher. There she learned pottery, ceramics, painting and how to crochet.

“When I paint, I let go of all the pressure in my life. It frees my spirit and brings a newness; a freshness that reminds me of how I felt when I created as a child. The joy of not knowing the outcome and experimenting! Resin, mixed media and alcohol ink painting are never the same, each painting is fresh and different. My style places me in the position to constantly learn and grow.”

Her children tease her saying every work of art is her favorite. “Before I sell a piece, I like to live with it and have the positive energy in my home. “It humbles me when people enjoy what I created from my heart and from my soul. I cherish building relationships with those who buy my art. That brings me as much joy as creating the work.”

I so thank you and know I appreciate you giving this piece of my heart and soul the home it deserves.

EVERY SINGLE WEDNESDAY exercise your gut with roaring laughter at our open comedy.  Sign up is at 7pm and the show starts at 7:30pm.  Don't be shy!  Drink beer and tell some jokes.  Fly Boy's food truck will be here serving up that classically hip cuisine!
