First annual pinewood beer derby
Join us Sept 10th at 5pm for Nashville's first annual Pinewood Beer Derby Fundraiser. That is right folks, Pinewood Derby cars just like boy scouts! Every brewery in town, as well as other participating businesses will be building their own cars and we are going to race them at the brewery after the Titans game. The track will be set up inside and contestants will be judged on the speed and style of their car. All of the proceeds will benefit Alive Hospice, a non-profit organization that assists families with end of life services. Scott from Chapman II will be with us as well serving up some delicious sandwiches. This event is open to the public and will be a great deal of fun! Come out and watch some of your favorite businesses in town race, and likely, drink too much! Involved businesses:

FEATURED ARTISTS OF JULY/AUGUST
Hayden Miles Worn and Withered series is a collection of small prints pulled from his sketch book. "Most are digital prints of ink drawings. These were what was in the sketch book. I used to sketch everything before hand and then go over with pen but I decided to start with pen this time. If I screwed up a line I was stuck with it. Not only did that make me more cautious, it also made for more damaged looking characters and objects. Worn down and withered, something I never had any interest in depicting. Some drawings I had an idea of in my head. Some would start out as a squiggly line. The other pieces are all line cut prints."
Adam Hale has taken the Nashville local artist scene by storm with his explosive first series,“Disestablished,” in which the artist underscores a challenging view of the status quo of corporate America. This collection vividly depicts the whimsical “Bunny Man” characters that, although endearing, offer a sobering perspective of consumerism in our culture. While continuing to build the “Disestablished” series, Hale has simultaneously constructed his latest expression, a compilation of classic, Hollywood Monsters entitled “Misunderstood.” “I have always been able to relate to Monsters. Whether they are innocent or villainous, they often seem to get a lot of negative press. I imagine them as “regular folks,” like the same people you see in a high school yearbook. We can reflect on them as “good guys” or “jerks,” but ultimately we are relating to an aspect of ourselves.
