Events and Marketing Manager

Smith & Lentz (S&L) is growing its taproom business and its presence in the Greater Nashville market, and is seeking a team member to drive our success.  The Events and Marketing Manger will develop, promote, execute and grow taproom and market events, as well as the company’s brand image. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and organized, manages several tasks simultaneously, communicates clearly (both internally and to the general public), understands the craft beer business and trends, is fluent in social media, and possess skills to develop and maintain relationships with retailers and community partners.


  • Two or more years of relevant experience (craft beer, wine, liquor and/or marketing).

  • Bachelor degree or higher OR additional years of relevant experience.

  • Management experience including budget, people and relationships.

  • Proven experience creating and delivering effective communications to in-house teams and to targeted public audiences.

  • Fluent in social media applications including instagram, facebook, and untappd.

  • Basic photography and digital imaging/graphic design skills preferred.


  • Works with S&L to deliver the brewery’s brand image and execute the company’s vision.

  • Develops with S&L marketing strategy, plan and budget, and executes it with the goal of increasing regular taproom sales and building culture.

  • Manages all social media activity including taproom events, beer releases, general brand and culture image, and any other communications.

  • Develops community relationships (businesses, non-profits, hotels, apartments, etc.) to grow local and tourist customer base.

  • Liaises between production and taproom to manage and train taproom staff with respect to all beers and the brewery’s brand.

Taproom Events

  • Works with S&L to develop and grow new and existing event concepts.

  • Proposes, manages and executes promotional plan and budget.

  • Executes planning, preparation and day-of logistics.

  • Grows and manages private and semi-private events.

  • Develops with S&L and manages philanthropic program.

  • Communicates with the Bar Manager to staff appropriately for all events.

In-Market Events

  • Works with S&L and Best Brands representatives to develop events with accounts, fitting with and growing our brand image.

  • Is super hype and engaging during events, encouraging other brewery staff to attend.

  • Grows personal relations with existing and new accounts to promote our brand image and culture (engrain the brewery in their staff culture).

Schedule and Compensation

This is an exempt position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience. The regular schedule will be Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm with the expectation of working at least 40 hours per week. Night and weekend work is frequently required for events and the regular schedule may be flexible to accommodate events with advanced communication. After six months of employment, bonus incentives may be implemented based upon defined revenue goals. As a full time employee, the position qualifies for amazing Smith & Lentz beer benefits!
