Furry Friends Welcome: Proud to Be a Dog-Friendly Pizza Place in East Nashville

Whether you’re out for a walk with the dog on a nice afternoon or you’re hanging out at home with your buddy by your side, when it hits you that it’s the perfect day for pizza and beer on the patio at Smith & Lentz, you don’t want to leave your furry four-legged pal out of the picture! Head on over to the most happening patio in town with your wing dog and scope out your preferred picnic table in the beer garden. We’ve got a bowl of water with your pup’s name on it and some lovely real estate under the table where they can chill while you and your partner, friends, or family indulge in handcrafted pizza and some craft beers.

Are Dogs Allowed in Restaurants in Tennessee?

Dogs are allowed at some Tennessee restaurants, but strictly on outdoor patios. Inside, only service dogs are permitted (emotional support animals are not included under that designation). And a gentle reminder: on hot afternoons and evenings, our patio surface can get seriously warm underfoot and under table, so when the mercury is high, we recommend your pup lay low on a cool and comfy couch at home.

But when the weather’s right, our patio is a pretty great place for all. As one of the more laid-back dog-friendly restaurants in East Nashville, we hope you’ll stop by and stay a while.

A Great Place to Take ‘Paws’

At Smith & Lentz, we’re a neighborhood pizza joint and brewery located right in the heart of East Nashville. We’re easy to find, and once you're here, you're close to just about everything else worth seeing and doing in the area. If you're looking for dog-friendly pizza places in Nashville that don't make you choose between really great food and a considerate canine policy, we'd like to think we fit the bill.

Every pizza we toss and turn out is a full 16” pie, made with a sourdough crust from our very own starter, and fired in a pizza oven until bubbling to perfection. It’s a process that requires thoughtful prep, and attention to fresh ingredients that take your order to the next level. We source most of our produce from nearby farms like Harpeth Moon Farms, Farm and Fiddle, Rosson Orchards, and Bells Bend Farm, and we use Carolina Ground Flour for our dough. You can taste the difference that homegrown quality makes.

Beyond pizza, we've got appetizers, desserts, and drinks! Warm marinated olives, garlic bread, goat cheese with local jams, as well as salads, and soft pretzels. We also make our own ice cream in-house using local dairy. On the drinks side of the menu, we brew our own pilsners, IPAs, and more right here, and we carry wine from small, low-intervention producers. We offer favorite cocktails, cider, kombucha, soda, and other non-alcoholic options, too.

As one of the more eclectic dog-friendly bars in Nashville we don’t compromise on our menu. We might not take ourselves too seriously, but the same can’t be said for our food and beer.

On the lookout for the most fetchy patios at dog-friendly restaurants in Nashville? If you’re in the area with your pup, join us at Smith & Lentz for fresh food and drinks today!
