Patio Season Is Back in East Nashville: Join Us on Main Street
Hello patio season! Warm days are here, and evenings are staying brighter a little longer. If you've been waiting for a reason to get outside on a weeknight for great pizza and delicious craft-brewed beer, we have a patio picnic table with your name on it right here at Smith & Lentz.
You don’t even need a plan. Spring is for spontaneity, after all. Grab your best buds, your partner, or round up a group of colleagues from the office and head on over to Main Street for some well-deserved socializing at a local pizza joint with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and good vibes.
We've got cold beer on tap, handcrafted sourdough-crust pizzas, and a rotating menu that brings ‘something new to the table’ every week. The East Nashville patio scene has a lot going for it this time of year, and we think ours is pretty good.
Patio Season Is Better in East Nashville
Here on Main Street, the indoor/outdoor restaurant scene has sprung to life. The dining room, too. Everything feels livelier in the best possible way as our little corner of East Nashville fills with locals, loyalists, and tourists united by a shared love of 16-inch, oven-fired pizza with just the right char.
Every day, our kitchen team mixes and ferments our own sourdough made from scratch with Carolina Ground Flour. It's a process that takes patience, and we love every minute of it. Our pizzas are naturally leavened and alive with flavor. The crust comes out airy and chewy, and the undercarriage is crisp and golden brown.
The toppings here are local and seasonal, sourced from our farmer pals at Harpeth Moon Farms, Farm and Fiddle, Bells Bend Farm, and a handful of other good people growing good things around Tennessee. When the produce changes with the season, our menu changes with it. You can taste the difference farm-to-table makes, and if you're walking by the kitchen, you can smell it too. We take no shortcuts because we love seeing our customers light up with their first bite of an artisanal pizza you wouldn’t expect from a casual pizza joint.
At Smith & Lentz, everything is meant to bring people together over something genuinely worth sitting down for. A top-quality menu, mouth-watering pizza, a crisp beer, a glass of red wine from one of our local suppliers, and, for dessert, our homemade ice cream made with fresh dairy supplied by J.D. Country Milk. When it’s patio season, we say go for it.
Weeknights, Weekends, and Everything in Between
Not every night needs to be a big plan. Sometimes it’s just about finding a spot where you can sit outside, split a pizza, and let the day wind down. No pressure to turn the tables fast because you didn’t have a reservation, no dinner jacket required. Instead, you’ll enjoy some pretty top-quality food, great company, and a bit more daylight so you can kick back and enjoy.
About That Beer Garden
Beyond the dining room at Smith & Lentz, the outdoor space opens up, and right now, it’s the place to be. Picnic tables, the open Nashville sky, and a warm-evening energy that makes you want to hang around and soak it all in.
Looking for a dog-friendly patio in East Nashville? At Smith & Lentz, dogs are welcome. Our picnic tables offer excellent under-table shade. It’s prime napping real estate, apparently. And some of those pups are genuinely more relaxed than anyone else. Talk about the good life and the right idea.
As patios in East Nashville go, we think ours is right up there. We’re at 903 Main Street, which means you're already in the middle of optimal neighborhood walkability. There are bike racks nearby and bus lines too. It's a good area to wander, and we're glad to be part of it.
If you're looking for the best patios Nashville has this spring for a low-key weeknight dinner or a spontaneous Saturday afternoon nosh, come find us. We're in the Five Points neighborhood, and walk-ins are always welcome. If you see a couple of dudes with flour on their aprons bussing tables, expediting for servers, and explaining the day’s feature beers to those who want the whole story, that’ll be us. Happy to see you!
Come by after work or on a weekend afternoon. Cheers to pizza on the patio.
